Kranji Countryside Loop

Singapore’s countryside ride: farms, quiet rural roads and rolling slopes through Neo Tiew and Lim Chu Kang.

Moderate North Singapore Road ride ~30–40 km

About this route

The Kranji loop is the closest thing Singapore has to a countryside ride. Neo Tiew Road and Lim Chu Kang Road wind past working farms, fish ponds and old kampong plots, with long sightlines and little of the city in view. It has been the staple weekend route for local road cyclists for decades.

Do not let the rustic scenery fool you: the Neo Tiew rollers are rated among the tougher slopes of any round-island ride, and shade is scarce. Weekend mornings are best, when heavy vehicles are fewest. Kranji Reservoir Park bookends the ride with a quiet waterfront finish.

Open Route in Google Maps needs nothing extra. It opens the Maps app (or website) with the whole route already plotted as pins, ready to cycle. The GPX download is useful if you navigate with an app like Komoot or Strava, or a Garmin/Wahoo bike computer. On longer routes Google may smooth a corner or two, since it draws its own path between the pins; the map below shows our fuller route line.
