Southern Ridges

A ridge-line adventure across the southern hills, with big canopy views and famous bridges you walk the bike across.

Moderate South Singapore Leisure ride ~10 km

About this route

The Southern Ridges connects the hilltops of Singapore’s south (Kent Ridge, HortPark, Telok Blangah Hill, Mount Faber) on a chain of ridge paths and canopy walkways with the best elevated views on the island, harbour on one side, forest on the other.

Be honest about what this is: a hilly hybrid of riding and pushing. Showpiece structures like Henderson Waves are no-cycling zones, so you wheel the bike across (worth it for the view alone). Treat it as an exploration ride with a camera rather than a training loop, and it becomes one of Singapore’s most memorable outings.

Highlights

Henderson Waves (on foot)Canopy-level forest walkwaysHarbour & skyline panoramas

Perfect for: Explorers, photographers, riders who don’t mind dismounts

  • Go at golden hour: the light off the harbour from Telok Blangah Hill is the south’s best free show.

Open Route in Google Maps needs nothing extra. It opens the Maps app (or website) with the whole route already plotted as pins, ready to cycle. The GPX download is useful if you navigate with an app like Komoot or Strava, or a Garmin/Wahoo bike computer. On longer routes Google may smooth a corner or two, since it draws its own path between the pins; the map below shows our fuller route line.
