North Eastern Riverine Loop

A flat, breezy waterway loop through Punggol and Sengkang, one of the best easy rides in Singapore.

Easy North-East Singapore Leisure ride ~26 km loop

About this route

If you want the single most pleasant easy ride in Singapore, this is it. The loop hugs water almost the whole way: Punggol Waterway’s landscaped banks, the open seafront along Punggol Promenade, the rust-red Lorong Halus bridge and the wetland behind it, then Sengkang Riverside Park’s floating wetland on the way home.

The terrain is pancake-flat and the paths are wide, which makes it perfect for families, new riders and unhurried evening spins. Punggol Settlement’s seafood restaurants sit right on the route for a mid-ride meal, and Coney Island’s west gate is a two-minute detour if you want to add gravel.

Open Route in Google Maps needs nothing extra. It opens the Maps app (or website) with the whole route already plotted as pins, ready to cycle. The GPX download is useful if you navigate with an app like Komoot or Strava, or a Garmin/Wahoo bike computer. On longer routes Google may smooth a corner or two, since it draws its own path between the pins; the map below shows our fuller route line.
